Nicole (Gandia) Gonzalez President
Nicole Gonzalez graduated from Harvard University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and a minor in French. In college, Nicole lived in Adams House, served as Programming Associate Director for Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business’ 2008 Intercollegiate Business Convention, as Director and Choreographer for Candela Salsa Dance Company and as Public Relations Director of her sorority, Delta Gamma, among others.
Nicole has a background in planning corporate and career development events, panels and conferences as well as in non-profit fundraising. She is also well-versed in web development, inbound marketing and social media. Over the past several years, Nicole has worked at the U.S. House of Representatives, Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division and a Boston law firm. She enjoys being involved in the community and, after graduation, joined a professional salsa company that performs at diverse events across the U.S. Nicole is currently an Assistant Event Manager at The Castle Group, where she plans corporate and nonprofit events, incentive programs and also works on company inbound marketing initiatives. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Nicole enjoys teaching salsa, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with her husband and two dogs.
Sun-Young Chung Treasurer/Fundraising
Sun-Young Chung graduated from Harvard College in 2009. She concentrated in Economics and lived in Adams House. In college, Sun-Young was a member of the HUWIB Corporate Development Committee and later served as Co-Director of the Corporate Mentorship Program. Sun-Young also served various positions on The Harvard Crimson as well as Global Platinum Securities, a student-run investment fund across eight different universities.
Sun-Young currently works at The Carlyle Group in their Energy Mezzanine Fund in New York, focusing on Oil & Gas and Power investments. Previously, she was with Citigroup in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group in New York. Sun-Young currently is a mentor for Global Platinum Securities and on the Advisory Board of Sacred Heart School-Highbridge in the Bronx. She is also a member of the 2009 Harvard Associates Committee.
Christy O’Neil Strategic Communications
Christy O’Neil graduated from Harvard in 2009. She concentrated in Economics and lived in Lowell House. As an undergraduate, she served as the Design and Branding Director on HUWIB’s External Communications Committee. Christy was also a member of the Harvard Crimson Dance team for four years, performing, choreographing, and managing the team’s marketing and branding, as well as a member of the Lowell House Committee and Kappa Kappa Gamma. After graduating, Christy spent a year at First Manhattan Consulting Group in NYC managing the creative development and production of direct mail campaigns for mid-sized retail banks.
Christy is currently a Senior Account Manager at EMI Strategic Marketing in Boston, working on direct mail and online marketing campaigns for clients in the financial services industry. She also serves as Development Chair on the Harvard Crimson Dance Team Alumni Board. In her spare time, Christy choreographs for and performs with DanceWorks Boston, the city’s largest performance-based dance organization for trained dancers who want to continue performing non-professionally after college.
Mary Caroline Szpak Alumni Programming
Mary Caroline graduated from Harvard College in 2011. She concentrated in Environmental Science and Public Policy, focusing on energy technologies. Mary was a member of Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business all four years of college, serving on the board as Internal Events and Relations Chair her senior year. While at college, Mary was also captain of the Harvard Crimson Dance Team, served as a member of the Harvard Energy and Environment Network, and was assistant choreographer for the Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ 2009 season.
Mary is currently working in equity sales for Credit Suisse. In this role Mary works with mutual funds, investment advisors, banks, pension funds, and hedge funds discussing and generating equity ideas and managing client relationships.
Meghan Doherty Strategic Relations
Meghan Doherty is currently pursuing her MBA from The Wharton School of Business. She plans to graduate in May 2014 with a major in Organizational Effectiveness. For the past two years Meghan was Head of Business Development for 85 Broads, a global network of 30,000 professional women. In this role she worked as part of a small team handling the day to day operations of the organization, securing new members and corporate partners, launching new global chapters, and working with the chapter and club officers to promote the 85 Broads brand internationally.
Prior to 85 Broads, Meghan was a consultant at the Hay Group in their Leadership & Talent Practice. Meghan graduated from Harvard College in 2008 with a degree in Psychology. During her time there Meghan was an active member of Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business, Habitat for Humanity, Kappa Alpha Theta and the Harvard College Fund.
Neeral Gandhi Undergraduate Relations
Neeral Gandhi graduated from Harvard College in 2012. She concentrated in Economics and lived in Cabot House. She served as HUWIB Fundraising Chair and Associate Director. She is currently a Consultant at Oliver Wyman in their financial services practice. Prior to Oliver Wyman, she interned with Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and Teach for America. She is also a member of Echoing Green’s Social Investment Council. Originally from Ohio, Neeral loves to play tennis, bike, try all types of new cuisine, and travel.

|Washington, DC||Gena Stern||Gena graduated from Harvard in 2009 with an AB in English and a secondary concentration in Gender Studies. She is a proud Adams House alumna, and served as the Logistics Chair for the 2008 IBC. While at Harvard she was involved with the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum (HRCM), the Women’s Center, and the Harvard College Fund. After graduating she moved to NYC and worked as a strategy consultant for American Express until returning to Boston in 2011 to pursue her MBA at Harvard Business School. Gena currently resides with her husband in Washington, DC, where she will begin a fellowship as Special Advisor to the Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in August of 2013. |Washington, DC||Lacy Kline||Lacy graduated from Harvard (and HUWIB) in 2009 with a degree in Social Anthropology. In college, Lacy was very involved in Pforzheimer House life, JV Softball, Intramural crew, and the Leadership Institute of Harvard College. Throughout college, she also volunteered with the American Cancer Society’s All-University Relay For Life, the Phillips Brooks House, the Harvard Emerging Literacy Program, and mentoring opportunities at Cambridge Ringe and Latin High School. After college, Lacy attended the Tuck Business Bridge Program at Dartmouth College and pursued various internships that fulfilled her interest in the intersection of business and government. Lacy is currently working in the Office of Management and Administration at the White House, where she has been since 2011. |Los Angeles||Jayne Wolfson||Jayne currently works in development and production at Dreamworks Studios. As a member of the creative team, Jayne is involved in the development of the studio’s slate, from buying material to guiding a project through production, post-production, marketing and publicity. Prior to Dreamworks, she worked in development at Parkes MacDonald Productions and in the Motion Picture Literary department of agency William Morris Endeavor. Jayne graduated from Harvard in 2008. She concentrated in Visual and Environmental Studies and lived in Kirkland House. As an undergraduate, she was an active member of HUWIB, and served as the Publicity Chair for the Intercollegiate Business Convention in 2006. |Los Angeles||Gina Seguiti||Gina graduated from Harvard in 2012. She concentrated in Sociology, Economics and Spanish and lived in Adams House. As an undergraduate, she served as HUWIB Marketing Director for the Intercollegiate Business Convention. Before transferring to Harvard in 2010, she attended Carnegie Mellon University for two years and studied in the Tepper School of Business. |New York||Roberta Steele||Roberta Steele graduated from Harvard in 2009 with a degree in Economics and a secondary degree in Government. Since graduation she has worked at Blackstone in its Hedge Fund Solutions group. She started her career on the legal and product structuring team but after deciding that law school was not in her future, she transitioned to a product development/business strategy team. |New York||Eliana Murillo||Eliana graduated from Harvard in 2010. She concentrated in Sociology with an emphasis on the Sociology of Economics. She joined HUWIB as a freshman and completed the Corporate Mentorship program. Eliana was President of Latinas Unidas, on the board of Harvard-Radcliffe Raza, and was actively involved with The Seneca and Fuerza Latina. Eliana is currently the Head of Multicultural Marketing at Google, Inc. She focuses on strategy across all Google products to engage multicultural users and business owners. She founded the US Hispanic business development team and has spearheaded programs that aim to support diversity in entrepreneurship and education. Her previous roles included diversity business development, and global sales and regional Latin American human resources. Prior to joining Google in 2010, Eliana worked at Target Corporation in the food merchandising division, where she focused on internal buying strategies and supply chain optimization. Eliana currently serves as the chief marketing officer of Tequila Alquimia, her family’s award-winning USDA-certified 100% organic tequila company. |New York||Kelly Peeler||Kelly is the founder of NextGenVest, a financial education, experience, and progress-tracking platform for young adults. NextGenVest seeks to deliver “low stress, high impact” financial education via mobile to students to prepare them to manage their financial futures. It is currently one of the 13 international companies represented in the Kauffman Foundation’s Global Scholars Program. Prior to starting NextGenVest, Kelly worked at JPMorgan in the Investment Bank and Private Bank. She is also one of the founders of Business Across Borders, a 501c3 that aims to spur economic growth in Iraq by supporting entrepreneurs. |San Francisco||Lindsey Barnes||Since graduating from Harvard in 2007, Lindsey has worked at P&G in brand management, BCG SF in management consulting, graduated from Stanford GSB with a degree in general management — and has overall been quite fond of institutions with “G”s in them. In addition, she married her college sweetheart Nic Barnes (2005) who was also a resident of Eliot House, and who now works at Levi Strauss headquarters in their consumer strategy division. Her favorite things to do in San Francisco include dancing at ODC, eating at places like The Grove and Plant Cafe, and enjoying the SF theatre district. |San Francisco||Ashley Prince||Originally from Texas, Ashley served most recently as Technology and Career Development Programs Coordinator at New York Needs You (NYNY), a nonprofit focused on providing career mentorship to low income college students. In this role, she created and managed a series of career exploration events engaging community college partners and young professionals to reach over 1,000 community college students. Prior to working at New York Needs You, Ashley worked as an Equity Research Business Analyst at Goldman Sachs covering biotechnology. While living in NYC, Ashley also served as a Junior Board member of Jumpstart and a Young Patron of the New York Public Library. Ashley will be entering Stanford’s Graduate School of Business as a Class of 2015 MBA candidate. |San Francisco||Nimi Katragadda||Nimi is a newly minted San Franciscan currently working for Google as an Associate Product Marketing Manager. Prior to that, Nimi worked at JPMorgan as an Investment Banker in the Natural Resources group in NYC where she helped advise Power and Alternative Energy clients on corporate strategy, including M&A and capital markets financing. She graduated from Harvard in 2010 with a degree in Economics and a Secondary Field in Government. On campus, she was actively involved with HUWIB as Co-President (’09-’10) and Senior Class Committee as Class Treasurer. The HUWIB Advisory Board is comprised of highly established business professionals who are dedicated to promoting women in business. They are leaders in their respective industries and serve as crucial advisors to the HUWIB Alumni and undergraduate community.
Roles & Responsibilities
- The HUWIB Advisory Board was created in 2010 to support and advise the HUWIB Alumni and Executive Boards. The Advisory Board consists of women who have shown exceptional leadership over their careers, and are dedicated to promoting women in business.
- The Advisory Board brings a wide array of industry and functional expertise to the HUWIB community in order to advise and set the strategic direction of the Alumni and Executive Boards, to enable them to better serve the young women in the Harvard community interested in pursuing a career in business.
Ellen Alemany CEO Citizens Financial
Ellen Alemany started her banking career at Chase Manhattan in 1977, before a 20-year spell at Citibank. From 1999 until 2001 she served as CitiGroup’s Head of corporate banking for 18 Western European countries.Her last post was as President of Global Transaction Services (GTS) at Citigroup with 22,000 employees worldwide, and as a member of the board. In June 2007 Alemany took over as chief executive of Royal Bank of Scotland’s U.S. operations and subsidiaries, a business employing 27,000 people, generating $8.9 billion in revenues and holding a total of $150 billion in deposits, making it the sixth-largest U.S. banking operation. Alemany was named to the Federal Advisory Council, which advises the Federal Reserve. In October 2005, U.S. Banker named Alemany number five on their annual “The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking” list. In 2008, Forbes named her as the 26th most powerful woman in the U.S.
Gina Helfrich, Ph.D. Director, Harvard College Women’s Center
Gina Helfrich, Ph.D. is Director of the Harvard College Women’s Center, where she leads the HCWC’s work to support and promote gender equity and women’s leadership at Harvard. She supervises the interns who staff the center and generally works to improve the experience of women and the LGBTQ community at Harvard. Gina serves on the Tutorial Board and teaches courses for the Committee on Degrees in Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Harvard, and her research interests include feminist theory, ethics, political philosophy, human rights, and the development of solidarities across identity categories.
Jennifer Kushell Founder, YSN.com
Jennifer Kushell is the author of “Secrets of the Young & Successful,” a New York Times Bestseller. Called the “Career Doctor” by Cosmopolitan and a “guru” of her generation by U.S. News & World Report, Jennifer has worked with tens of thousands of young people in over 100 countries for more than 15 years. She is co-founder and president of YSN.com (Your Success Network) which connects driven young people with experience, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities around the globe.
Donella Rapier Chief Financial Officer, Partners in Health
Donella Rapier is the Chief Financial Officer for Partners in Health (PIH), a not-for-profit organization that operates health care and poverty alleviation programs in nine countries, in settings as diverse as rural Haiti and Rwanda. She is responsible for all financial activities, individual giving, foundations and corporations, and grants. Prior to PIH, Donella served as Vice President for Alumni Affairs and Development at Harvard University, Chief Financial Officer for the Harvard Business School, and Senior Manager for Price Waterhouse. Donella holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Elizabeth Vale Senior Policy Advisory, U.S. Treasury
Elizabeth Vale serves as the Director of External Affairs at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), where she has primary responsibility for the Bureau’s engagement with Capitol Hill; the media; consumer and industry groups; local, state, and international governments; and community banks and credit unions. Prior to being named Acting Associate Director, Ms. Vale was a Senior Policy Advisor to Elizabeth Warren on the CFPB’s Implementation Team. In this capacity, she served as the liaison to community banks, credit unions, and small businesses.
Previously, Ms. Vale served as the White House Business Liaison and Executive Director of the White House Business Council. She coordinated a consistent White House message to and from the business community. Prior to her career in public service, Vale was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley. She has 22 years of investment experience. Before joining Morgan Stanley, she was a Vice President and portfolio manager at Philadelphia National Bank, now a part of Wells Fargo. Earlier in her career, Ms. Vale was a Legislative Assistant in economic policy for Senator John Heinz, supporting his work on the Senate Banking and Finance Committees.
Vale received an A.B. cum laude in Government from Harvard University and studied at the London School of Economics. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
